Who We Are

National Association of Administrators for Disordered Gambling Services (NAADGS) is an organization that was formed in 2000 under the name of Association of Problem Gambling Service Administrators (APGSA) to support the development of services that will reduce the impact of problem gambling in the United States. NAADGS is an active association that enhances the effectiveness and efficiency of its member organizations through support, information dissemination, and adherence to professional standards.

What Personal Data we collect and why we collect it

When visitors leave comments on the NAADGS site we collect the data shown in the comments form, which includes name and email address, and the comment itself. We also collect the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. Google Analytics tracks general computer data but does not collect personal data.

NAADGS also collects cookie data for users who log into this site, but those who have log in information are members who give their permission for this data to be collected.

Registered NAADGS Members who log into this site will receive the normal WordPress login cookie which typically lasts 48 hours or until the browser is closed.  If the “Remember me” box is checked, the WordPress cookie typically retains user information for 14 days then expires and  requires members to authenticate their login information again. 

This site also uses Google Analytics which uses cookies to provide the NAADGS with website traffic analysis.

how long we retain your data

Our blog area within the “Resource Library” does not allow comments at this time. However, if this is changed in the future and you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata will be retained indefinitely. This would allow us to  recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For registered members on our website, we store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All member users can see and edit their “own” personal information at any time with the exception of changing their username or deleting their account which must be requested by email to the NAADGS webmaster. Website administrators can also see and edit member information.

What rights you
have over your data

If you have an account on this site as a registered member, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data the NAADGS retains of your account, including any data you have provided that is stored. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
